I am in the process of going through the Lib Dem conference programme to see if there will be any fringe events I could attend to increase my understanding of the role to which I hope to be elected on 15th November. As I do so twitter is going mad with news of the reshuffle (or shuffle) and one of the consequences is that Nick Herbert who had worked very hard to drive through this very unpopular reform despite lots of resistance is no longer policing Minister. will that mean that the Government is no longer so committed to the role?
However back to the conference. I keep on seeing Sarah Teathers name against matters to do with education. It now appears that she is no longer the Minister. The point of this short blog is that because the new Children and Families Minister might be a Tory and the new Policing Minister could have so easily been a Lib Dem, that this shuffle will play havoc with two conferences about to take place in Brighton and Birmingham. Still back to work!
