A gentle suggestion for Donald

IolaireAccording to the press and his tweets, Donald Trump has had a frustrating end to 2018 and beginning of 2019, expressing deep anger towards his political opponents over their failure to support his wall separating North America from South America. Whilst this battle will continue for many more years, it would be good for the man who claimed three and a bit years ago that “Word is that they [his Scottish relatives] were all very brave and strong men. I am very proud of them and so was my mother. Our whole family loves Stornoway.” to send a message to the people on his families Island of Lewis and town of Stornoway that he too supports their work to celebrate the tragic deaths 100 years ago of over 200 men returning from World War 1 in the Harbour of Stornoway. Whilst some people may find his comments offensive because of his political setting, after 100 years it is vital we work together to remember how people died under such a sad situation leading to an enormous impact on a small isolated community. Men who had spent the War fighting for all of us! Maybe recalling such a tragedy might improve the prospects of ending wars across our World!
