A vital part of our shared history and heritage

A friend of mine is one of the keynote speakers at this event today and although it is a very local event for the people who live in the Nottingham area, it is an event that deserves being profiled more widely. The fact that the Government is now funding such events deserves to be acknowledged, but so to does the fact that it is the same Government which spent many more years ignoring and indeed denying this matter and many people have been severely impacted by such a terrible approach. It seems hard to understand how some issues get a lot of profile from the media and the political world even though there is often very little indication of what has happened, yet when it came to this issue the Government refused to deal with it and it has had relatively low levels of profile throughout.

I hope that Joe Aldred and the others involved have a good day today and that as these events take place, that bit by bit the Government gets closer to putting right their failure.

About ianchisnall

I am passionate about the need for public policies to be made accessible to everyone, especially those who want to improve the wellbeing of their communities. I am particularly interested in issues related to crime and policing as well as health services and strategic planning.
