The empty climate change podium of our less than Prime-Minister

It seems as though Mr Johnson along with Mr Farage are not willing to participate in a debate about climate change that is taking place this evening on Channel 4. Of course there is still a few hours to go and Johnson’s capacity to change his mind is well recognised. However his lack of willingness to be held to account is widely recognised from the days when he was standing as the leader of his party and he refused to take part in a number of debates, to the time more recently at the end of October when he was due to face questioning by the Commons Liaison Committee – made up of select committee chairmen – but in a handwritten note to the chairwoman, Sarah Wollaston, he asked for a new date to be arranged for “five or six months” on from when he became Prime Minister.

I find it very disturbing that as our nations highest profile public servant Johnson is unwilling to respond to entirely reasonable events such as these two and indeed the previous ones to be seen as accessible by the people he is supposed to be serving.

About ianchisnall

I am passionate about the need for public policies to be made accessible to everyone, especially those who want to improve the wellbeing of their communities. I am particularly interested in issues related to crime and policing as well as health services and strategic planning.
