Mr Johnson and his team of campaigners wrote a series of simple ideas into their 2019 manifesto which one could argue led to many of their MPs getting elected. One of the most relevant ones was “People must have an accountable local leader delivering on
their priorities, who they can vote out.” Now of course the downside to this argument is that most local people do not oppose the mansion tax idea, so perhaps my optimism is a bit naïve, however let us see if we can work to challenge some of the other ideas that Johnson is promoting by persuading our local Conservative MPs and Conservative Party members to express anger towards Johnson over his plans. Interestingly the photograph does not seem to reflect anger very much so perhaps this was taken after he had cooled. To be clear up until now whatever the anger may have been seen as, most Conservative MPs have voted the way they are told by Mr Johnson and Mr Cummings so we need to urge them to start to pay a great deal more attention to their constituents and also the residents in nearby constituencies that are not yet Conservative constituencies. After all if they want to carry on dominating this nation they will need to extend their influence by becoming accountable!
