Throughout Christmas and New Year there have been sadly a significant number of threats and attacks on people who are part of emergency services. This included a number of Police Officers attacked in West Sussex and Brighton and Hove over Christmas. Whilst it is vital that we do all we can to avoid such actions taking place, the mental health of these professional people (some of whom are volunteer workers) is also very significant. The reintroduction of the Bluelight Programme a few weeks ago in the run up to Christmas was a clear response to the challenge our blue light workers have been facing for many months due to the COVID close down and tier arrangements. The new frontline website is available here and there is also an online survey which was released before Christmas that can be carried out here.
