It is well known that Greta Thunberg gets listened to in public settings. Given that Members of Parliament would like to be listened to we can perhaps raise questions about their commercial settings. Given that John Redwood is an MP and already has a very high profile in our nation he is very well paid by the Parliament as indeed are all MPs at nearly £80,000 a year. As it happens John is also paid as a Member of the Advisory Board of EPIC Private Equity who pay him £5,000 a year for 12 hours of his time (£416 an hour). He is also the Chairman of Investment Committee of Charles Stanley for which he receives £187,272 a year plus a £35,000 bonus payment for 600 hours of his time (£370 and hour). So given that Greta Thunberg is not promoting private companies we can perhaps treat John Redwoods role as an MP as being only a part time role. As it happens the comments by Greta Thunberg have mixed views but if we are going to review them, I would question if John Redwood is competent. After all his work as an MP is not really his main income source.
