A decision will be made after recess – we can call for it!

On Thursday in the House of Commons there was an answer provided to a written question from my MP who was calling for the Afghanistan immigration and asylum cases. The response came from Kevin Foster who is one of the Ministers in Priti Patel’s Home Secretary Department. My MP is Caroline Lucas who is responsible for Brighton Pavilion. Given that the response will not take place until after the reopening of the House of Commons on 19th April, we should now call on our MPs to call for this to take place. Clearly this image indicates that Priti Patel has spoken positively about Afghans but we know very clearly that her attitude towards Immigrants and Asylum seekers has been very different. So here is where the question and answer came from which is reproduced below. It would be good to let our MPs know about it so they can endorse the question from Caroline Lucas.

Caroline Lucas: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will make it her policy to provide a Home Office Desk in Portcullis House for hon. Members to take immigration and asylum cases relating to the situation in Afghanistan; and if she will make a statement.

Kevin Foster: The service provided by the Home Office at Portcullis House has received wide praise from Hon. Members who have made enquiries regarding Ukraine. Consideration is currently being given to widening the service to non-Ukraine enquiries including those relating to the situation in Afghanistan. A decision will be made after recess.
