We need to provide safe locations for ex-prisoners

A report from the BBC which can be obtained from here is entitled “Freed Bronzefield prisoners ‘do not have safe accommodation’, report finds” is available here. It is stated that Bronzfield is the largest female prison in the whole of Europe. The statement begins with these words

The majority of inmates released from Europe’s largest female prison do not have safe and long-term accommodation to go to, an inspection has found. A report by HM Inspectorate of Prisons said 65% of inmates released from HMP Bronzefield, in Surrey, did not have “sustainable” accommodation. This was “undoing the good work” of jail, the report said.”

We clearly need to provide a meaningful solution for these ex-prisoners so that when they leave prison they are able to begin to change their situations in a positive way.
