We can sign to Apply to Join the European Union (EU)

A few weeks ago on 17th May a person called Oliver Romain established this petition which is partly based on this YouGov reflection to the EU from the 10th May 2022. That involved 2823 adults and only 2% of that group believe that Brexit has gone very well and a total of 17% believe it has gone well. There are 30% who believe it has gone very badly and a total of 49% believe it has gone badly. So Oliver has set out a petition which is available here. At present there has only been just over 2,100 signatures but if more people can be informed this could lead to many more signatures. Here is the text for the petition:

We want the Government to start the process of seeking to rejoin the EU. Only 2% of the public think that Brexit has gone ‘very well’ and only 15% ‘fairly well’ since the end of the transition period*.

We believe the majority of the British public no longer supports Brexit, in addition to Scotland and Northern Ireland voting against leaving the EU in the 2016 referendum. It’s time to put a stop to this disastrous experiment and seek to return to the EU as full members.
