Government and Parliament have made a bad decision

Many of us are involved in the petitions that we submit to the Government as we have done for many years. According to the e-petition website that “UK Government and Parliament” coordinates it that there is now a statement in the petitions that defines “Following the sad announcement of the passing of Her late Majesty The Queen, petitioning has been paused until further notice. Please check back later for more information.” which is very frustrating in terms of all of the existing petitions but perhaps much more disturbing is this petition.

Following the sad announcement of the passing of Her late Majesty The Queen, petitioning has been paused until further notice.

Sadly so far there have only been 1,565 signatures for this petition which was set out by Alistar Crouchman and even more disturbing the deadline for this petition is 18 September 2022.

There are of course many other petitions that people may wish to sign over the next few days but this petition should be responded by many of us now. Sadly the Government is not enabling us to respond. As it happens while the petition system was closed yesterday evening, that today several MPs have signed the Early Day Motions so apparently the Parliament petitions are still activating while they have closed down the public petitions.
