Two friends I am very proud of today in our Nation

At the beginning of this year I spotted that two of my friends had received a response from the Government and the King. They have both received their promises today.

The person on the left of the images is Ian Green who I spent many years working with when I was Chair of the Hove based YMCA and he was in charge of the National YMCA. I was involved in the YMCA from 2000 to 2012 and he moved from the UK YMCA a few years ago. I wrote about his announcement here. Ian released his information today on Facebook with these words “A morning at the Palace. Well deserved OBE for the amazing Ian Green” and “So this just happened – presented with the OBE by HRH The Princess Royal”

The person on the right of the images is Simon Nelson who I had the privilege of working with for many years because he was a senior Police Officer in Sussex Police until the end of 2022 and I have been a member of the Sussex Independent Advisory Group (IAG) from 2004 and I am still involved. Simon released his information today on LinkedIn with these words “This happened today and I am so grateful to the Royal household staff and the HRH The Princess Royal for making it so special.”

I am very proud of both of these people who both received their responses today from the King.
