Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, a day for each of us to remember some of the many Holocausts that have taken place throughout our history. Each reflecting the terrible inhumanity that we are each capable of outworking on others. That this day coincides with the Syrian Peace talks brings a particular poignancy. Our Political Leaders are to be commended that, albeit under pressure from the electors they held back from intervening militarily in Syria last year. However that is not the end of the matter, they need to follow through by doing all they can to ensure the talks are successful and lead to more talks. It is easy enough to go to the HMD website and write 140 characters and upload a photo. Please consider doing so. Alternatively find another way of adding your words or actions to remembering our savage pasts, and committing to a humane future.
