Over promises and a lack of delivery

images79CNHHE0Tom Bell has written an excellent blog today about the predictable failure of Public Policies on a whole range of subjects. It reminded me to ask whatever happened to James Caan and Alan Milburn. James Caan was announced as Social Mobility Tsar in Summer 2013 and Milburn was also referred to as holding this post during the same year. It is widely reported that social mobility has been facing the same sort of austerity as the wider economy. Yet despite watching and listening to broadcasters I can find no evidence of the work of either men for many months. Perhaps next time we could elect a Government that will only promise what they can deliver and there will be an end to all of these half hearted and poorly thought through ideas?

About ianchisnall

I am passionate about the need for public policies to be made accessible to everyone, especially those who want to improve the wellbeing of their communities. I am particularly interested in issues related to crime and policing as well as health services and strategic planning.
