On Sunday Morning David Cameron was interviewed by Andrew Marr, who raise the issue of Syria and the decision from 2nd December, more than a month ago to deploy British planes and weapons. It was clear from the response to the questions, that any sense of urgency expressed in December by MPs in both the main parties, has dissipated. The words at the time of Crispin Blunt:

“Whilst the defeat of ISIL and its ideology will be the work of many decades, the retaking of this territory is an urgent and immediate requirement.”

It was expressed during the debate by many MPs that we needed a plan for the action in Syria. Tragically Andrew Marr did not ask Cameron for the news on the plan, but it would have been very easy for our Prime Minister to have expressed his deliberations on this. Our Government took us into a new war zone, arguably a new war on 3rd December. It is disturbing that some 6 weeks later the sense of urgency has dissipated, that the plans called for in December are no closer to being formed. This is an appalling situation and cannot be allowed to disappear into the mist of other news, no matter how important. If Cameron has the time to tweet about the death of an 69 year old icon, he has the time to address the lack of plan for Syria.
