Last week marked 3 months since MPs voted to drop British Bombs and Missiles on Syria. The vote at the time was declared to be a matter of urgency and immediacy and all Sussex MPs except Andrew Tyrie and Caroline Lucas voted to drop the munitions on the people of Syria in an attempt to destroy the power of Daesh. One of the calls during the debate by a number of speakers on both sides of the debate was the need for a plan for this element of our war in the Middle East. To date 3 months later there is still no plan, and there are no indications that the bombs have had a positive effect or improved matters for innocent people on the ground as this article indicates. In fact the reverse appears to be the case. Our MPs are supposed to be accountable to us, yet sadly there are far too many comfortable MPs in Sussex in safe seats whose idea of accountability is to tell us to wait until the next General Election when we can vote them out if we can persuade enough people to overturn their historic majority. Most of the Sussex MPs have been very vocal in the last three weeks regarding the decision that you and I can make at the end of June in the referendum, yet all appear to have been silent about their own decision making from 2^nd December and how they plan to bring the executive to account to publish a credible strategy for Syria. It is not unreasonable of us to want our representatives to explain what they have done since December before we focus on our decisions in June.
