Lets celebrate

Delta 7 and Culture CICIts the middle of Mental Health week and one small way of responding to this is finding positive things to say about the people we work and live with. Last week as one of the corporate sponsors of a Youth Awards event in East Sussex I was thrilled to be able to represent the company I work for and present prizes to a number of youth organisations. The whole evening focused on the achievements and activities of young people in the County with a range of different musical pieces, all provided by the groups involved. It was a great evening and although over half of the sponsors were public bodies, the private companies like our own that provided the prizes ensured that the audience was a mix of parents, young people youth workers, educators and potential employers. The sense of achievement and confidence from those who were awarded prizes was very high. It would be good to continue to celebrate these achievements and even the day to day ones that happen in our places of work. The picture above is of a group called Delta 7 who work with an organisation called Culture Shift CIC. Their combined efforts led them to being one of the runners up in the Arts and Culture Awards and they performed one of the more radical sets during the evening.
