A big spurt

IMG_20160816_133211Over the last few days I have not been blogging, because I was enjoying a few days off in Dorset. One of our visits was to Forde Abbey which was a very nice ancient home, still inhabited and some lovely gardens. The centre piece for our visit and judging by the numbers of people we witnessed, was that three times a day for 15 minutes the tallest water fountain in England was turned on. According to the information we saw, it was 150ft high when the wind was not too strong and it was such a lovely feature we watched it twice. In a world full of tragedies and technology, there was something oddly peaceful about the site of this water tower and the families of children running around the pond to get as wet as possible!
