Lets promote the NHS

images (225)Its not easy walking into a Hospital which has been at the life journey’s end for two close family members and is now treating a third, albeit for an operation which has been performed millions of times before. Based on the visits we have made this weekend, it is clear that our NHS is hard at work 7 days a week and presumably 365 days a year. However there are plenty of ways in which the care could be improved and so much of this has nothing to do with Doctors contracts or matters of organisational strategy. Whilst politicians focus on introducing widespread change that will give the impression of improving the system, what is really needed are people who will champion the work that goes on already and raise the spirits and aspirations amongst those who have to deal with the politically motivated changes. We also need to see a boost to the morale of those who work incredibly hard to care for our friends and relatives. Finally we need voices that will fairly expose any linkages between politicians and attempts to make money at the margins of this huge industry.
