£50m found under the sofa

imagesUJ64W9R5It is great news that after nearly two years of calls to increase the funding for the promises made by the Government in 2015, that within 5 months of the delivery of the free child care that suddenly the Government has found an additional £50m to the original £50m they commited to this project. Most experts in the field of child care believe that £100m is still woefully short of the funds needed to provide this level of support to parents. It seems churlish to call for more when the Government has just found £50m but the fact is that every time we drop bombs on places such as Syria, we spend far greater sums on the cost of such destruction. When will this Government get the message that investing in families and children is far more important and ultimately far more rewarding for society as a whole than wasting money on bombs and missiles.
