Lets reduce our prison population

Prison Reform.png It is easy to find fault with our Criminal Justice System. Like any series of organisations there will always be ways of improving connections and sometimes the cost of improvements means we have to live with the inadequacie. This website offers data on prison related matters in comparison to other nations. One of their data lists indicates the rate of prison populations by nations and when compared to the rest of the EU we are 21st out of the 28 nations. We like all of the other EU nations lock up more people than Finland and Sweden which are the nations that lock up the fewest people and are the exemplars in that respect, but apart from Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Latvia and Lithuania we actually lock up more people than any of our European partners. Before we leave the EU perhaps our Government could be persuaded to commit to reforming our Criminal Justice System, once and for all?
