It is easy to find fault with two of my MEPs, two men who are supposed to represent my constituency in the European Parliament, even though they both despise the Parliament and seem to spend a great deal of their time writing or speaking on foreign media outlets and seemingly building careers that have no relevance to the work they are paid to do on our behalf. In effect they are faux ambassadors earning huge sums and presenting a twisted representation of our nation to other nations. The big difference between Nigel Farage and Daniel Hannan is that Nigel frequently speaks out of pure ignorance when he gets a chance to communicate, thereby ensuring he will always misrepresent the true nature of our nation to others. This tweet which Nigel posted at around 11pm yesterday is a classic case of this sense of treason. He is choosing to post an interview, one of many he has given on Fox News and above it has made a statement that is wrong on so many levels.
I suspect that Nigel has spent very little time with police officers in his constituency, but nevertheless to believe that they don’t get called names and are criticised extensively demonstrates a profound level of ignorance. I suspect that under great pressure and in very difficult scenarios that all police officers like the rest of the human race, experience fear. However having worked with those who have faced physical attacks or threats of various forms, to state that they are fearful of being called names is pure nonsense and laughable, were his comment not so serious on other levels. Of course that doesn’t mean that police officers like being called names or lied about, but scared, do be sensible Nigel. There is certainly a need for racism which occasionally rears its head amongst small numbers of police officers in most police forces to be addressed and dealt with very robustly. However it is damaging and stupid to suggest that anyone’s life is at risk because of political correctness. Farage is implying that the Police are not dealing with criminals from ethnic groups and as a result the rest of our society is at risk. The evidence that his implications are not true is easy to find. The question is who will take his tweet and challenge it for the threat to our nations credibility that it represents? Perhaps some of the Police and Crime Commissioners in his constituency will do so?
