We need to challenge these deceitful comments

Henry the 2ndJust over a week ago the MP for Crawley attempted to mislead his colleagues and misrepresent the views of his constituents. I contacted him via Facebook and pointed out that although 58% of the people in Crawley who voted in the referendum had voted to leave the EU that this was actually only 42.7% of his constituents as not all of them had chosen to vote. Speaking yesterday morning Henry had clearly chosen to correct his first mistake but then went straight into a second one that is just as dangerous. He is now trying to claim to know how all 31,447 of Crawley residents who voted to leave want him to respond to the Lords votes en bloc. The reality is that some of these 31,447 would now be dead as nearly two years has past since the referendum and also some will by now have changed their minds over the EU departure. Even amongst those who are still alive and still want us to leave, some will support certain elements of the Lords proposals and some may well support all of the Lords proposals.

The reality is that Henry Smith is a representative of Crawley, not a delegate and so he is entitled to vote as he sees fit. However pretending to know how 31 people in Crawley would vote is a bit of a risk, to suggest he could honestly know the views of 314 people is clear nonsense, let alone 3144 people, but to claim he know how 31447 would vote shows he is living in fantasy land and needs to be held to account.
