According to this article, this man believes that providing more funds to local authorities that are already struggling will not help them to resolve challenging matters for families that are breaking down. He is of course correct that ‘throwing money at a problem won’t solve the problem’. However by the same token failing to properly fund public services is also not going to work. If the same argument was applied to any other form of public or even private run services, the failure rate would continue to increase. Perhaps it is time for Mr Zahawi who is well remembered for using public money to heat the stables in his home in his constituency to spend a bit more time understanding the needs and pressures of local authorities and their residents and treat these people with the same care and attention that he gave to his horses using our taxes!
