We need more credible national newspapers

ColeI confess that every Monday, around 800 words of my own appear in a weekly column in our local daily newspaper. I therefore am on thin ice in criticising the Sunday Times Newspaper for choosing to limit the words of a very credible Chief Constable when they offer meaningful space to the likes of AA Gill, Jeremy Clarkson , Dominic Lawson, Rod Liddle and Adam Boulton. The idea that a Chief Constable who I have heard interviewed by broadcasters and corresponded with on social media is only worth 10 words when people like me and those listed above get given several hundred seems to be deeply wrong. It seems vital that a national newspaper pays a bit more attention to credible leaders and if necessary gives a bit less space to Clarkson and Liddle in particular.
