Bullies like Jacob look for others to blame

Theresa MayThis evening Jacob Rees-Mogg has been speaking about the current Brexit discussions between the leaders of the EU nations and the impact on his Party Leader, and our Prime Minister, Theresa May. Jacob stated “It was clear that no deal remains better than a bad deal and that she is not going to give in to the bullying by the European Union… I think she has been really disgracefully treated by the EU. The discourtesy shown to her and the UK is one of the reason we don’t want to be in this dreadful organisation. It is a bullying, high-handed, aggressive, arrogant institution that we’ll be well shot of. I think she has responded well to being bullied and has stood up to them rather than giving in.”

Apart from his own bullying approach which rather devalues his accusations towards the EU leaders, the truth is that a no deal outcome is far worse than remaining in the EU and it is time for politicians like Jacob Rees-Mogg to accept that an alternative to no deal and a bad deal needs to be a prospect of a deal to remain in the EU with a major reform programme. The EU leaders are responsible for finding a good outcome for all 27 nations that will be left behind by us, any respect for us depends on us understanding this.
