One political party that is lacking in credibility

skynews-jeremy-wright-jeremy-wright-mp_4439991The long history of Tory Party conferences where every aspect put on public show is carefully choreographed continues this year in Birmingham at extensive cost to their local police force but as Jon Craig, the Sky news political correspondent is implying here the only party members who are bothering to attend these main controlled sessions are the people who are paid to be in the main hall to ensure everything runs well or those who cannot get into any of the fringe events at a given time. Meanwhile the Cabinet members who are the only party members invited to speak throughout most of the event turn up to speak and then disappear again. The only time that most of the 2,250 seats are full is when Theresa May bothers to turn up. Clearly this approach will be good for the local meeting spaces which would have been booked out months ago as along with the cost of the main hall and the ring of steel and concrete around the ICC, most of the party members are remaining outside in the real world. When they were all inside the hall, some 12,000 people came to protest at the abject failure of the party to deal with Brexit, so for every person inside the hall there were 5 outside. The irony is that although this march by peoples vote supporters and many of the fringe meetings are all focused on Brexit, there is no plan for the Party to officially hold debates on this matter which is so important for our nation for future decades to come. A party that is entirely bereft of credibility!
