It now appears that when Diane James, one of my current MEPs was leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party from 16th September 2016 – 4th October 2016  that she was planning to rename the party as the United Kingdom Destruction Party (UKDP). After years of pretending that we need to focus on the sovereignty of our state made up of three historic nations (England, Wales and Scotland) along with Northern Ireland, Diane and UKDP’s true objective have finally emerged through her interview in the Sun newspaper on 27th December 2018. The newspaper has been a major player in attempting to get us to leave the EU and is now clearly commited to the break up of the UK. Of course the EU raises many challenges for our 62.8m people but when isolationists like Diane stand up and argue for us to articulate our sovereignty and independence they are only willing to do so if that lines up with their view of isolationism from the rest of the world in a manner that compares well to Ernst Stavro Blofeld who Ian Fleming saw through similar eyes as wanting to dominate and control a very small world. Diane’s current view is that because Northern Ireland and Scotland voted in a majority to remain in the EU, that they need to be separated from England and Wales. However once she has achieved a break up of the state, she will then begin to look for parts of England and Wales that need to be separated out. Places such as Brighton & Hove and London will clearly be part of the new, non English locations.

However we can at least agree with Diane that we need a referendum to determine the future of our nations as part of the United Kingdom, and also our role in the future with the European Union which we need to have clear plans to reform.
