It seems vital as we approach the end of the 34th month since we last voted on a series of rather half correct and even dishonest promises about Brexit and we are at the beginning of the 23rd month since we last voted on two major manifestos that failed to offer a very credible set of alternatives that the man who is likely to get elected by around 100,000 people (so 0.2% of the electorate) as the next Prime Minister is rather concerned that our votes will once again not lead to quite the same provision that he has promised before and then been caught out. What we need are a generation of politicians who are capable of stating very clearly what is on offer and then giving us the chance to vote in a meaningful and credible manner. If what they offer is not very exciting then let us go for a realistic set of options that are not very inspiring, and which do set out the pain and consequences of our choices. Far better that we know the true cost of our choices than get promised all sorts of things that we will never see!
