Team at YMCA is phenomenal that supports people

On Thursday at the end of House of Commons a session called “Sir David Amess Summer Adjournment” took place and the first person who contributed was Douglas Ross who is the Conservative MP for Moray and he began with this comment “I begin by apologising to the House: as I have discussed with Madam Deputy Speaker and the Minister, I cannot remain until 5 o’clock. As a result of today’s train strikes, it will take me longer to get to the airport and then back to Scotland. I appreciate their understanding of that.” Some time later another Conservative who took part was Dean Russell who is the MP for Watford. He spoke a number of comments and then he stated the following aspect which relates to the YMCA which is as follows.

Yes, I could get the Government funding; I could get support for the issue, and push and champion it; but really, this action was sparked by a gentleman called Matthew Heasman at New Hope UK, a fantastic local charity, and Rob Edmonds. Matthew got me involved from day one of the pandemic. He helped me to get the Government to make sure that we could get everyone in and that has continued. The team at One YMCA have been phenomenal in making sure that we deliver on that and have a process that really supports people; Guy Foxell and Mark Turner enabled that.
