Towards the end of the last Parliament the current MP for Brighton Kemptown asked a question that disclosed his interest in the role of Micro, Small and Medium sized businesses and the answer showed how little concern the current Government has in supporting such businesses. Although the theme of the question was on the exporting of goods and services, for the Government to only offer 13% of their support to 99% of the businesses in our nation demonstrates that they really don’t care very much about such businesses more generally. Of course the individual large businesses are much bigger and make more money and employ larger numbers of people than the 99% of businesses. therefore it would not be credible for a Government to give 99% of its support to 99% of the businesses. However the potential for economic growth in our nation is based on the small and micro enterprises far more than on the large and medium sized businesses.
