Its an interesting day both sides of the Atlantic

Although there are no links between what is taking place in Parliament in the UK and the House of Representatives in the USA, there are significant events taking place that both have happened as a result of the leaders of the two Nations playing political games with their positions. The Impeachment of Donald Trump which took place overnight comes as a clear response to his appalling actions over the Ukraine involvement of one of the people likely to stand against him in Next Years election. His use of his role as President to attack another candidate should anger all Americans irrespective of their views regarding him in other senses.

It is of course a very different aspect to the Queens Speech for the Houses of Parliament today but the reality is that this Queens Speech comes precisely two months and four days since the last Queens Speech organised by the same Prime Minister, albeit one with a much larger majority today than he had two months ago. He clearly abused his role back in October as it was very evident that when he was calling for a first Queens Speech that he actually wanted a General Election and yet he went ahead and used the Queen to promote his priorities. Just like Trump Johnson deserves to be challenged and held to account for such bad behaviour.
