Today the credibility of a ‘One Nation’ Political Party will be tested

As the House of Commons is given the opportunity to revisit a series of amendments to the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill there will now be a chance for our MPs to review and reconsider their previous decisions. There are several amendments that have been approved by the House of Lords, even though they were instructed by the Government Ministers not to do so. However no one gets it right 100% of the time and Governmental legislation needs to avoid being treated as perfect when it is assembled rather quickly and in a setting where there are no objections raised by the majority of the House of Commons. The reality is that the amendments are widely supported by people in our nation who do support the idea of a united nation (as covered in the two Northern Ireland amendments) and do support the idea of offering sanctuary to unaccompanied children (another amendment) and workers rights and the Erasmus+ element which together represent two other amendments. The Erasmus+ issues was referred to yesterday in my blog.

So Tory MPs here in Sussex who include the 9 men and women shown above, you can now stand up to your political party senior people and explain that you have been hearing from many of your constituents who you are accountable to, and you have listened to the Lords and indeed observed that all five of these amendments are ways of improving the prospect of a One Nation and so you will vote for them!
