Yesterday in the Early Day Motion system Ed Davey set out his view about Boris Johnson. Ed has written several EDMs since the last General Election and he has signed many more. This EDM was co-signed by 10 more Liberal Democrat MPs yesterday and this morning the remaining two Liberal Democrat MPs signed it. The question that is now very interesting is will any of the other political parties endorse this EDM and indeed how many of the 148 Conservative MPs that voted to reject Johnson will also sign it? That this House has no confidence in the Prime Minister because he has broken the covid-19 lockdown laws that his Government introduced, has presided over a culture of serial rule-breaking in Downing Street, has undermined standards in public life, and has failed to take action to support millions of families in the midst of a cost of living emergency.

It will be interesting to see how many more MPs will sign this very clear call and which will sign it first now that the 13 Liberal Democrat MPs have signed it.

PS: On Thursday Caroline Lucas who is the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion signed it and also Stephen Farry who is an Alliance MP of Northern Ireland.
