It was very exciting to spot yesterday on LinkedIn that our Sussex Chamber of Commerce is promoting the COP27 event in Egypt next month. The link is here. Ana Christie who is the Sussex CEO focused on the involvement by the British Chamber of Commerce at COP27. I recall that back in COP26 in Glasgow almost a year ago that Ruth Valerio who is person I have had the privilege to meet on a number of occasions was participating on behalf of Tearfund. One can assume that Tearfund will participate in the COP27 location and indeed that a number of other faith agencies will do so. Indeed, because COP26 took place in Scotland there is a very clear call that the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be attending the Egypt meeting as can be seen here. Of course, our current Prime Minister, Liz Truss has prevented King Charles III from attending and indeed it was indicated that she would also not attend. It would be very useful if our Chambers and Churches can attend and that in doing so, we can call for King Charles and Liz Truss to attend on behalf of our Nation along with Nicola Sturgeon.
