My meeting of King Charles III when he was the Prince

Today has been a significant event for us to see the official appointment of King Charles III as our Nations King. Several of the other people who have assisted in the process as Bishops and other senior people who were shown on the TV event involved people I have met in the past. That included Mike Royal who is the General Secretary of the Churches Together of England who I know very well. I also had the privilege opportunity to meet Prince Charles 15 years ago during my work for organising the Hope08 year for Churches and many other faith agencies. Back in 2008 his team asked us to welcome people from a range of settings across the UK and for us to visit his London home. I was involved in organising the visit and indeed I visited his home before the event which was very exciting. I was very grateful for the opportunity in 2008 when I met him and I enjoyed observing his activity today and the thousands of people who took part in his event in London today. It will be interesting to see how things will emerge in the future now he is officially the King.
